2010 Edinburg Disaster Preparedness Truck Assistance

Cost : $ 2,000 Beneficiaries : Hopefully None

Hurricanes, floods, fires, storms. The ACS trailer has been to many calamities in so many places in and around Texas since 1953 delivering badly needed goods and personnel to the disaster victims. The list of numerous places, dates and types of calamities where it served filled its body.

Due to time and elements, the disaster trailer was itself a disaster waiting to happen. Before another disaster happens, repair and renovation have to be made. The Adventist Community Services (ACS) of Edinburg SDA Church has renovated the big supply container. However, more funds were needed for the repainting.

ASM, as part of its thrust in disaster preparedness, donated two thousand dollars (US$2,000.000) for the repainting of the trailer. Mr. Roy Custodio, ASM President, handed the donation to Mr. Randall Jobe, ACS Coordinator, during a simple ceremony one Sabbath morning in April 2010 at Edinburg SDA Church.

After a few weeks, the old trailer came out of the shop sporting a brand new look ready to respond to whatever, wherever and whenever disasters strike.
