2012 Typhoon Pablo Victims Assistance

The Advent SHARE Ministries contributed $1560 to the recovery and mitigation efforts of ADRA Philippines (Adventist Development and Relief Agency) for the victims of Typhoon Pablo (Bopha) that slammed southern Philippine provinces on December 4 to 7, 2012. The typhoon brought torrential rains, triggered landslides and flash floods, and left 1,500 dead or missing.

More than 100,000 homes were destroyed and nearly one half million people were displaced. With a gusting wind at 185 mph, it is one of the strongest typhoons that hit the Philippines damaging billions worth of agricultural crops and properties. The damage was so severe that it prompted the United Nations to appeal for aid amounting to $65 million.
