Background: Progreso Weste (with about 1000 population) and Progreso Este (with about 1441 population) are far flung barangays in the Municipality of Odiongan, Province of Romblon, Philippines. There is no adequate source of water, much more the potable water. The local folks fetch water from the nearby river for their daily water consumption, about a kilometer away. However, there is an existing spring of water near the village.
The spring was developed in May 2019. A 10’ x 10 ‘ x 30’ underground reservoir was constructed. Water is then being siphoned by an electric motor pump to the overhead water tank in the village. From the water tank, smaller pipes and taps were strategically installed in the village close to the houses. This water project was inaugurated on June 5, 2019 followed by a Free Health Clinic on June 6, 2019. Family Spiritual Health Seminar was conducted as well from June 2- 7, 2019.
